The Ukrainian Saturday Children’s Centre has begun its work in Tenerife, creating a new educational and welcoming space for children and teenagers living on the island. Classes take place at Amora Academy in Puerto de la Cruz.

The centre was created so that children can do more than gain knowledge. It gives them regular opportunities to hear and speak Ukrainian, explore the history and culture of Ukraine, develop their curiosity and spend time with peers. Learning is combined with conversation, creativity and a sense of belonging to the Ukrainian community.

Three teachers have joined the centre’s team. Inna leads Ukrainian-language classes, Kateryna introduces students to Ukrainian history, and Lina helps children discover physics and astronomy. Each brings her knowledge, experience and genuine care for young learners to the project.

The launch was made possible with the support of Amora Academy (@amora.academyy), which has welcomed the initiative into its premises. We are grateful to the academy’s team for its hospitality, trust and contribution to creating a place where Ukrainian families can meet and grow together.

These first gatherings mark the beginning of a new chapter for Ukrainian families in Tenerife. More subjects, friendships, shared discoveries and ideas lie ahead. The centre is intended to grow alongside the children while helping the island’s Ukrainian community remain connected, active and united.
